Braunton to Barnstaple
Not a spectacular day to compare with the previous six, but there are good views across the Taw, sea birds and waders in the estuary, relics of the disused railway and historical interest in the old market town of Barnstaple.

The route, day 33
The South-West Coast Path goes on tarmac along the route of a disused railway, past the Royal Marines air base at Chivenor, then on the banks of the river Taw to Barnstaple. 5.5 miles/9 km and 31 metres ascent.
